Gideon Yu is the Co-Owner and former President of the San Francisco 49ers. He holds the distinction of being the first person of color to be the President of any team in the history of the National Football League. He is also currently the founder and Managing Partner of Series X Capital, a venture capital firm in exclusive partnership with Alphabet's Google X, The Moonshot Factory.

Previously, Gideon was the Chief Financial Officer of both Facebook (now Meta) and YouTube, the first two social media platforms to surpass one billion active users. At Facebook, he led the investment round from Microsoft and Hong-Kong billionaire Li Ka-shing at a then record setting valuation for social media companies. At YouTube, he negotiated its sale to Google amidst a highly competitive auction.

Gideon has advised and invested in the early stages of numerous unicorn technology innovators. Most notably, as a General Partner at Khosla Ventures, he led the founding investment in Jack Dorsey's Square (now Block) and was its first outside board member.

Gideon is currently on the National Board of Directors for the PGA of America, one of the world's largest professional sports organizations with over 30,000 members, administering such tournaments as the Ryder Cup and the PGA Championship. Gideon is also on the Boards of Trustees for the Society for Science and the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

Gideon earned his BS in Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management from Stanford University, and his MBA from Harvard Business School.
