Amy W. Schulman is a managing partner at Polaris Partners who focuses on investing in healthcare and consumer companies and early-stage biotech start-ups. For the past twenty-five years, Amy has been a leader in healthcare—first as a global law firm senior partner and the general counsel of a Fortune 50 pharmaceutical company, then as president of that company's consumer products and nutrition divisions, and more recently as a biotech entrepreneur with deep relationships in the US and Singapore. Her business acumen, regulatory experience, and interpersonal engagement have driven positive change for countless patients, providers, companies, and investors.

She serves as chair of the Board of Directors of Alnylam Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: ALNY) and is a member of the Board of Directors of Elevance Health (NASDAQ: ELV).

Amy also serves on the Boards of the California Institute of Technology, Mount Sinai Hospital, and Action Against Hunger. She is an appointed member of Singapore's Human Health and Potential International Advisory Council and serves on Singapore's Research, Innovation and Enterprise Council (RIEC).

Amy has received numerous awards, including Forbes' 50 Over 50 list in 2025, Fortune Magazine's 50 Most Powerful Women in Business, the Margaret Brent Women Lawyers of Achievement Award, Scientific American's Worldview 100 List, and Fierce Biotech's Top 15 Women in Biotech.

In July 2014, Amy joined Harvard Business School's Faculty as a Senior Lecturer, where she is currently teaching.

Amy is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Wesleyan University and Yale Law School.
