Arthur Rock was principal of Arthur Rock & Co. and was a partner in Davis & Rock from 1961 to 1968, both venture capital firms. He was chairman of the board of Scientific Data Systems and a member of the board of directors of Teledyne Inc., Xerox, Argonaut Insurance, Apple Computer, AirTouch, the Nasdaq Stock Market, and Echelon Corporation. A founder of Intel Corporation, he served as chairman of the board, chairman of the executive committee, and lead director.

Rock has also served as trustee of the visiting committee of the Harvard Business School, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and the San Francisco Opera.

Rock founded the Arthur Rock Center for Entrepreneurship at Harvard Business School, and he and his wife, Toni, founded the Arthur and Toni Rembe Rock Center for Corporate Governance at Stanford University.

Rock received a BS in political science and finance from Syracuse University and an MBA from Harvard University.
